The Embassy helped to sponsor the participation of community leaders and civil society representatives from Peru, Chile and Argentina.

  • Supporting a “Canada School” in rural Uruguay

    2016-01-28 - In 2000, Rural School No. 26 in Uruguay was renamed “Canada School” in recognition of the Embassy of Canada to Uruguay’s longstanding support for the school. It is one of three other schools in Uruguay named after Canada due to the Embassy’s collaboration with those schools.

    2015-06-12 - One of the wonderful elements of the Summit of the Americas is the inclusion of youth in the summitry process. Heads of State and Government from the Organization of American States (OAS) gather at the Summit every three years to discuss priorities and mandates for the Americas. Canada was proud to sponsor Martina Buchal's participation, as she represented Canada and spoke on two panels at the 2015 Young Americas Forum (YAF), held on the margins of the Summit of the Americas.
