2014-01-15 - Increased the capacity and skills of the Haitian National Police (HNP) through the Canadian support to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), enabling Haitian to progressively take full responsibility for the security of the country in a variety of police functions, including in good management practices, on human rights and creating processes that are more sensitive to victims of sexual and gender-based violence.
2013-11-01 - In the months following the devastating Haiti earthquake in 2010, shelter was one of the most urgent needs for displaced populations. Many found shelter in makeshift camps but further natural disasters such as hurricanes and tropical storms continued to destroy homes and batter Haiti.
2013-08-23 - In 2012, the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives contributed CAD$60,000 to Guatemalan efforts to reduce chronic malnutrition by 10% before 2015. CFLI supported three groups working with rural indigenous communities to attack the root causes of this scourge.
