The current processing times for all IEC categories are calculated from the date on which your completed application is received by the Youth Mobility Unit.
We are observing the principle of “first come, first served” both for assigning places within categories and for processing applications.
Note for candidates applying to categories "Young Professionals", "Internship / On-the-Job Training" and "Student Summer Job": We are aware that certain job or internship confirmations are received late, and we try to process applications so that each candidate can commence his/her position on the date indicated on the contract. However, we cannot guarantee the issuance of the Letter of Introduction before the contract start date if the interval between the date on which we receive the application and the date on which the position begins is shorter than the processing time indicated on our website.
The processing time that applies to your file is that which is indicated in your Acknowledgement of Receipt email.
*This processing period does not include the time during which we are awaiting your proof of payment.
**If a medical examination is required you should anticipate an extra three-week processing delay, in addition to the processing time that will apply to your file.
Due to the high number of applications received, we will not respond to any questions regarding your file during this period.
In the event that you have not received an email or letter informing you of the Embassy’s decision after the total processing time indicated in the Acknowledgement of Receipt email has passed, you may inform us of this situation by completing the form below:
