Yves Bordeleau: Hello my name is Yves Bordeleau and I am CEO of Wicked Studios, a small developer located in Montreal, Canada.
Michael Mancini: So tell me about your company and the kinds of products you develop.
Yves Bordeleau: Oh, Wicked Studios is a Nintendo DS developer. We specialize in tactical role-playing games and also 3D-sized controllers.
Michael Mancini: The Canadian trade commissioner service in Montreal has helped you a lot. Tell me about how they've helped.
Yves Bordeleau: Oh, well the boot camp was really cool. I think that for in my own experience I've been you know going to a lot of trade shows in the last few years and there's so many things that we tend to forget when we are in the middle of meetings and stuff like that. Neil at the boot camp help us just to you know grab those, those little details and to remember them just to you know have a little bit of practice, share with other participant during the boot camp.
Michael Mancini: Now looking at specifically the outside of the prep camp the help that trade commissioners provide to your community in terms of matchmaking, tell me about the help they were able to provide that, in that sense.
Yves Bordeleau: Okay the main thing is to get my company in touch with people that we don't have contacts with, for instance some publishers that are new in our game genre for instance. The trade commissioner helped us to get in touch with key people that are looking for a particular project. That is exactly what we do for instance so in the, yeah there's a few key publishers that I never met before that the trade commissioner help us get in touch with.
Michael Mancini: Ultimately what to you is the value of that help? You know meeting these people and developing those relationships, what does it mean ultimately for your company?
Yves Bordeleau: Oh it's all heading toward the same target is to sign a deal like knowing the right people and you know meeting them at the right time is, is key for us because every year we have new projects going on and we really want to meet the right people and pitch the right project to the right people. That's the key and that's especially what's great about the trade commissioner helping us.
