Established in 1969 by the Canadian International Development Agency, the Centre became part of the Canadian Foreign Service Institute of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, in 1996. Both the Institute and the Centre are internationally recognized in the area of training and human resources. The Centre is Canada's largest provider of intercultural and international training services for internationally-assigned government and private sector personnel.
The Centre works with government departments and agencies, NGOs, as well as private sector enterprises with international involvement.
And the Centre never ceases to seek ways to renew itself. The Intercultural Facilitation and Organizational Development (IFOD) line of service and the International Personnel Assessment (IPASS), have generated keen interest among managers of intercultural projects and human resource professionals alike. Over the years, our training programs have been designed with a view to maximizing the acquisition of the intercultural skills vital to a successful international experience. Our Research Activities and Publications and Discussion Papers are a crucial pillar of our work and continue to support our core activities.
