Trade Visit to China
October 7-14, 2011
Minister Fast made a successful trade visit to China from October 7-14 where he met with Chinese government ministers and assisted Canadian businesses seeking out new economic opportunities.
While in China, Minister Fast visited Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Suzhou, Beijing and Qingdao, to strengthen the Canada-China relationship and promote Canadian capabilities in target sectors such as aerospace, financial services, energy, advanced manufacturing, education, agri-food and natural resources.
Minister Fast also followed up on a government commitment in the 2011 Budget by announcing the establishment of a panel of eminent Canadians to help develop recommendations for an international education strategy.
