Minister Day travels to the United Arab Emirates


Minister Day signs an agreement on economic cooperation, trade and investment with Sultan Saeed Nasser Al Mansouri, the U.A.E.’s Minister of Economy.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Minister Day travelled to the United Arab Emirates, Canada’s most important export market in the Middle East. There he signed an agreement on economic cooperation, trade and investment with Sultan Saeed Nasser Al Mansouri, the U.A.E.’s Minister of Economy.

While in Dubai, Minister Day also:

  • Met with senior executives from EMAAR Properties, one of the biggest developers in the U.A.E. and the world. EMAAR’s projects include the world’s largest mall and the world’s tallest building.
  • Visited the Emirates - CAE Flight Training Centre, which employs flight simulators from Canadian world leader CAE Inc. to train pilots from the U.A.E. and around the world.
  • Visited the Dubai mall which houses a state of the art ice rink. Canadian expertise (IBR Technologies) was used to build and is used to maintain the ice rink.
  • Participated at a reception co-hosted with the Canadian Business Council.
  • Attended a performance of Alegría by the world famous Quebec-based Cirque du Soleil. Alegría is the second show Cirque du Soleil has presented in the Middle East.
