Minister Fast leads Trade Mission to Europe

January 20 to 26, 2015

The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, will lead a one-day trade mission to Italy to promote the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), as well as trade and investment opportunities for Canada and Italy that will benefit both countries.

Canada’s most ambitious trade initiative, CETA promises to open new markets for Canadian goods and services, create new jobs and strengthen local economies.

From Italy, Minister Fast will travel to Davos, Switzerland, where he will attend the World Economic Forum and meet with European and other world leaders to highlight the economic advantages of working with Canadian businesses.

Minister Fast will lead a trade visit to Ukraine from January 25 to 26, 2015. Minister Fast will be accompanied by Canadian community and business representatives to meetings with local business leaders where they will discuss investment and mentoring opportunities between Canadian and Ukraine companies. Minister Fast will also attend meetings to continue the Canada-Ukraine free trade negotiations and seek improved market access for Canadian products.
