Official Visit to Europe

Minister Van Loan was in Europe from July 3 to 20 visiting Russia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia. He promoted Canada’s competitive advantages and highlighted progress toward a Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement.
During this visit, the Minister welcomed an updated foreign investment promotion and protection agreement and signed an agreement on youth mobility with Slovakia. He also marked the coming-into-force of youth mobility agreements with Estonia and Slovenia.
