100 years of trade relations with Germany

Minister Van Loan delivered a speech at an event in Toronto to mark 100 years of Canada-Germany trade relations.
Germany is a key player in our efforts to expand trade, encourage growth and create jobs. Canadian merchandise exports to Germany totalled $3.7 billion in 2009, making Germany Canada's sixth-largest merchandise export market.
Minister Van Loan used this opportunity to promote Canada's free trade negotiations with the European Union.
