Minister Day leads trade mission to Russia

Minister Day concluded a four-day infrastructure trade mission to Russia to showcase Canadian expertise in the infrastructure sector and promote two-way trade and investment.

During his trip to the cities of Moscow and Sochi, Minister Day:

• met with Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Viktor Zubkov, with whom he co-chaired the Canada-Russia Business Summit, and then signed a joint statement on a range of commercial initiatives to conclude this year’s session of the Canada-Russia Intergovernmental Economic Commission;
• marked International Olympic Day and officially opened the offices of SNC-Lavalin in Sochi, future home of the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games; and
• visited the Canada Pavilion at the Moscow International Oil and Gas Exhibition.
