Canadian Business Women – Trade Mission to Brazil
May 17 to 20, 2015
On behalf of the Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, will be leading a Canadian Business Women Trade Mission to São Paulo, Brazil from May 17 to 20, 2015.
Status of Women Canada is collaborating with the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development, to facilitate this Trade Mission. It will provide Canadian women in business with increased profile, and help them network with the local business community in São Paulo.
Brazil has many opportunities for Canadian businesses:
- São Paulo is the largest financial centre in Brazil;
- Brazil's IT market is the largest in Latin America;
- An estimated 80% of all life science products used in Brazilian hospitals are imported;
- The number of students in Brazil is estimated at 55 million, and there are a number of opportunities for Canadian businesses in the areas of technical/vocational training, as well as e-learning tools; and,
- Brazil is an agriculture powerhouse in need of new technologies.
