Canadian Cultural Representatives Abroad

Cultural Attachés

Cultural Attachés strive to increase the visibility of Canadian culture and artists abroad and to enhance the image of Canada through our achievements in the arts. They achieve these objectives by cooperating and collaborating with cultural institutions such as museums, theatres, festivals, publishing houses and cinemas to support projects involving Canadian artists. Canadian Cultural Attachés are located in various Canadian Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates abroad.

Trade Commissioners Responsible for Cultural Industries

Trade Commissioners operate out of Canada's Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates abroad with the aim to advance Canada's trade interests by guiding export-ready companies through the global marketplace. In order to achieve this mandate, Trade Commissioners provide assistance in assessing potential business opportunities, market information and intelligence such as an indication of regulations and certifications as well as notification of upcoming events. They also provide Canadians with local knowledge of potential buyers, partners, agents, distributors, government officials, organizations and associations, in addition to practical advice on timing and organization of business trips.
