Ottawa, January 29th, 1949

ESTABLISHMENT OF AUSTRIAN CONSULATE 1N CANADA

49. The Secretary of State for External Affairs, referring to discussion at the meeting of July 20th4, stated that the Austrian government had again expressed a strong desire to obtain Canadian agreement to the establishment of an Austrian Consulate General in Canada.

The Prime Minister had concurred in permission being granted.

50. The Cabinet, after discussion, approved the establishment of an Austrian Consulate General in Canada and agreed that the Austrian government be informed accordingly.
