Figure 4.2 depicts Imports of Goods and Services from Major Areas from 2006 to 2010 in C$ billion.

Imports from the World increased steadily from C$487 billion in 2006 to C$538 billion in 2008, fell back to C$463 billion in 2009 before rebounding to C$507 billion in 2010; imports from the US gradually increased from C$312 billion in 2006 to C$334 billion in 2008, fell back to C$286 billion in 2009 before recovering to C$312 billion in 2010; imports from the EU increased from C$56 billion in 2006 to C$63 billion in 2008, fell back to C$54 billion in 2009 before rebounding to C$55 billion in 2010; imports from Japan was C$14 billion in 2006 and 2007, fell back to C$13 billion in 2008 and to C$11 billion in 2009 before rebounding to C$12 billion in 2010; exports to other areas gradually increased from C$105 billion in 2006 to C$128 billion in 2008, fell back to C$113 billion in 2009 before rebounding to C$127 billion in 2010.
