Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz was proclaimed the sixth King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2005.
King Abdullah received his early education at the royal court and studied religion, history, philosophy and Arab heritage.
King Abdullah holds the position of Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers and Commander of the National Guard. In this capacity, he has instituted Technical and Military Schools, and has established a military academy known as the King Khaled Military Academy.
He has attended a number of Arab and Islamic conferences, and presided over many sessions of the Council of Ministers.
