All Canadian and international media representatives planning to access official media sites for the G8
Foreign Ministers' Meeting must be accredited. As part of the accreditation procedure, all media will
be subject to a security check.

Accreditation Guidelines
In order to receive accreditation, all media must complete the accreditation form (see below)
and return it by regular mail to the Media Accreditation Coordinator. Forms must be received
before May 27, 2002.

A separate form must be completed for each media representative requesting accreditation.
To validate accreditation requests, both Canadian and international media must have their news
agency manager (or an agency representative) sign the accreditation form. If the news agency
manager is to attend the Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the agency is required to submit proof of
the news agency manager's status.
To be sent with the accreditation form:
An assignment letter prepared by the agency
One (1) personal colour photo, 40mm x 40mm (millimetres) or passport size. On the back of the photo, clearly identify surname, given name and date of birth in block letters.
The G8 Management Office will contact you directly, by email, once a decision on your
application has been made.

International Media Accreditation Form
Which form should I complete?
Canadian citizens, Canadian residents, and holders of Canadian work
permits should complete the Canadian Media Accreditation Form. All
others should complete the International Media Accreditation Form.

Media Centre / Accreditation badges
Accreditation badges will be issued at the Media Centre, which will be located in the Frontenac Ballroom of the Fairmont Château Whistler (4599 Château Boulevard, Whistler, British Columbia.) The Media Centre will be available from 8 a.m. on June 12, 2002, to 6 p.m. on June 13, 2002. Individuals are required to present valid identification in order to claim accreditation badges.
Accreditation Checklist
Accreditation form filled out and signed
Form signed by the news agency manager or agency representative
Letter of assignment confirming coverage of the G8 Foreign Ministers' Meeting Proof of status submitted by the agency (required only when the publisher has been assigned to
cover the G8 Foreign Ministers' Meeting)
One personal colour photo with surname, given name, and date of
birth clearly stated in block letters on the back (40mm x 40mm or
passport size)
Accreditation form, letter of assignment, proof of status (if

Media Accommodation
Media representatives not covered under delegation arrangements are
requested to contact Tourism Whistler's Central Reservations service to make
personal arrangements for accommodation in Whistler. Tourism Whistler
maintains a log of available accommodations within the village and can
efficiently make recommendations and bookings for all media representatives.
