Canada and Iran

Canada has taken strong action in response to the Iranian regime's blatant disregard for the human rights of its own people, its bankrolling of terror, and its foot-dragging on investigations into its nuclear activities.

Canada stands in solidarity with the Iranian people in their historic struggle for hope, dignity, and freedom. In reflecting on the 1-year since President Rouhani’s election in June 2013, we must not lose sight of the hope that young Iranians have for their future, and their desire for a government that listens to their voices, respects their human rights, and provides jobs and opportunities rather than reinforcing the same old corrupt cronyism.

This page highlights key issues that demonstrate the struggle for hope, dignity, and freedom as relayed to us by Iranians. Connect with us on our Twitter channel and Facebook page.
