Global Business Leaders Series – United Kingdom

Manchester, November 3 | Oxford, November 4 | London, November 5, 2014

Invest in Canada, in partnership with the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom and members of the Consider Canada City Alliance (CCCA) brought together senior policy-makers and business leaders from the U.K. and Canada for an informative discussion highlighting Canada’s unique investment opportunities, particularly in financial services, information and communications technology, and life sciences.

The business outreach program reached over 60 U.K. companies through targeted seminars and more than 50 one-on-one meetings were held between Canadian municipal economic development organisations and U.K. business executives. In addition, meetings with key regional authorities in Manchester and London provided an opportunity to discuss city-to-city links and opportunities for partnerships to advance mutual business and investment goals/objectives.

With a top performing economy, sound banking system, highly skilled workforce, low taxes, and a commitment to free and open trade, evidenced by NAFTA, the recently announced Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), and our ongoing participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade negotiations, Canada is an excellent location for investors.

Members of the Consider Canada City Alliance met one-on-one with business executives in the region to discuss investment opportunities in Canada.
