Modification - Minister Cannon to Hold Media Availability with Nobel Laureate Shirin Ebadi

(No. A/70 - Modification - April 27, 2010) The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by John Weston, Member of Parliament for West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country and Government Liaison to the Persian and Iranian Community, will meet with Shirin Ebadi, winner of the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize, on April 27, 2010, in Ottawa. After their meeting, they will take questions from media representatives.

Ms. Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Prize in recognition of her significant and pioneering efforts for democracy and human rights. Founder of Iran’s Defenders of Human Rights Center and recipient of 25 international awards and honours, Ms. Ebadi is the author of Iran Awakening: From Prison to Peace Prize.
