"I look forward to my first official visit to South Korea," said Minister Cannon. Following this visit, Minister Cannon will attend the APEC Ministerial Meeting in Singapore. At the Meeting, the Minister will hold senior-level meetings to discuss ways to continue promoting economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

Throughout his trip to the region, the Minister will take part in a number of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening Canada’s relations with some of its closest partners in Asia. While in South Korea, Minister Cannon will pay a courtesy call on President Lee Myung-bak and meet with Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan, Minister of Unification Hyun In-taek and several parliamentarians.
