Canada Offers Condolences After Ferry Capsizes in India

May 1, 2012 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and the Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs), today issued the following statement:

“On behalf of the Government of Canada and all Canadians, we offer sincere condolences to the people of India, especially to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in a ferry accident yesterday. We wish a quick recovery to those who were injured and extend our sympathies to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.”
