November 16, 2012 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today announced that he will travel to the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) from November 16 to 18, 2012.
Baird will participate in the Sir Bani Yas Forum, an annual high-level international gathering hosted by his Emerati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the U.A.E., to discuss critical issues of peace and security in the Middle East, including the conflict in Syria, the Middle East peace process and Iran.
This unique gathering brings together eminent thinkers from around the globe for discussions that enlighten, engage and energize.
Baird welcomed Sheikh Abdullah to Canada in March 2012 and again in September, when the two ministers signed a nuclear cooperation agreement. Canada’s relations with the United Arab Emirates are strong and getting stronger.
