Canada to Welcome Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea

December 3, 2012 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement:

“Canada is pleased to welcome Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik of South Korea to Ottawa this week. His visit will further deepen the already strong bilateral relationship we enjoy with South Korea on a variety of issues, including economic prosperity and regional security.

“I look forward to our discussions this week and welcome the opportunity to build on the visit of Korean foreign minister H.E. Kim Sung-hwan this past September where we witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding to strengthen our collaboration on international development and a joint declaration on enhancing the strategic dialogue between our two countries.”
