Canada Condemns Second Terrorist Bombing in Russia

December 30, 2013 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement:

“Canada is appalled by another cowardly act of terrorism in Volgograd, Russia, today, which has killed and seriously injured more innocent civilians. We call for the perpetrators to be identified and brought to justice.

“This second attack compounds the atrocity of yesterday’s despicable crime. While the threat of terrorism remains a persistent global reality, our resolve to fight it will not be diminished or weakened.

“On behalf of all Canadians, I extend my deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones and wish a full recovery to the injured.”
