Results of Study on ‘Windsor Hum’ Released

May 23, 2014 - On behalf of Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, Jeff Watson, Member of Parliament for Essex and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport, today returned to Windsor, Ontario, to release the results of a study to identify the cause of the so-called Windsor Hum.

The Hum refers to recurring vibration and noise that have been disturbing people in the area for years.

Acting on a recommendation from the International Joint Commission, the Government of Canada funded the study aimed at identifying the source of the Hum. The study was conducted jointly by scientists from the University of Windsor and the University of Western Ontario.

“Our government takes this issue seriously and has followed through on our commitment to pinpoint the source of the Windsor Hum,” said Parliamentary Secretary Watson.
