John Baird, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, meets with China’s Minister of Education, His Excellency Yuan Guiren, in Beijing, July 19, 2011.
The two ministers discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including expanded opportunities for Canadian students to study in China and vice versa.
Such people-to-people links are an important and growing feature of the Canada-China relationship. Already, chinese students contribute over $1.5 billion dollars a year to Canada's economy.
