John Baird, Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister, meets with Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary-General of ASEAN on July 23, 2011, in Bali, Indonesia.
Minister Baird re-stated the importance of the Canada-ASEAN relationship and Canada's engagement in Southeast Asia. Minister Baird also underlined Canada's commitment to furthering Canadian interests in the region. The two ministers noted that 2012 marks the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Canada relations.
