Canada Supports the African Union Mission in Somalia

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird meets with Augustine Mahiga, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, to convey Canada’s decision to enhance its support of the United Nations Trust Fund for the African Union Mission in Somalia with a contribution of $1 million.
This contribution will complement the $72 million that the Government of Canada has already provided for the delivery of humanitarian aid to help with famine relief efforts in the Horn of Africa.
