Canadian-Emirati Ministers Further Bilateral Relations with New York Meeting

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird meets his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the 66th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York City on September 22, 2011.
It was a very cordial meeting building on previous encounters. The ministers discussed bilateral relations between Canada and the UAE, the bid for Palestinian statehood, the Middle East Peace Process, and regional issues more broadly.
Canada and the UAE have been strong partners in supporting the aspirations of the Libyan people to build for themselves a brighter future.
