Strengthening Canada-U.A.E. Relations
March 5, 2012 - Ottawa - Foreign Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), meet in Ottawa on March 5, 2012.
Canada and the U.A.E. have begun negotiations on a nuclear cooperation agreement between the two countries. Such an agreement would create business opportunities for the Canadian nuclear industry and jobs for Canadians, while ensuring that Canadian-supplied nuclear items are used for peaceful, civilian purposes.
