Minister Baird Meets with Burmese President Thein Sein
March 8, 2012 - Naypyidaw - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird meets with Thein Sein, President of Burma. The two discussed recent developments in the country, including positive first steps to promote democracy and human rights for all Burmese people.
Minister Baird was in Burma for a day of meetings with members of the Burmese government and opposition parties. His trip marks the first visit by a Canadian foreign minister.
