Baird Greets Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister
June 19, 2012 - Ottawa - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today welcomed Jean Asselborn, Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to Ottawa.
The two ministers had a productive exchange of views on the political and economic relationship between Canada and Luxembourg, as well as recent developments in the eurozone and in the Middle East.
Canada and Luxembourg have a long-standing friendship based on shared values and ongoing political dialogue on major international issues. This relationship has expanded into a vibrant economic and trade partnership. Luxembourg's strong engagement in the European Union adds another important dimension to the two countries' dialogue.
