Baird Meets Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati
August 10, 2012 - Beirut, Lebanon - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today met with Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati. They had a productive exchange of views on the political and economic situation in Lebanon, as well as the crisis in Syria.
In recent weeks, Lebanon has been subjected to a spillover of violence across its border with Syria. Baird conveyed his support for a secure Syrian border and discussed Canada's commitment to finding a diplomatic solution in Syria.
