Baird Hosts Mexican Counterpart
July 25, 2013 - Ottawa - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird welcomes his Mexican counterpart, José Antonio Meade Kuribreña, who is on his first visit to Canada as secretary of foreign affairs.
Baird and Foreign Secretary Meade Kuribreña continued their ongoing dialogue with productive discussions on ways Canada and Mexico can further strengthen their countries’ bilateral relationship, building on past successes on a range of common interests, including promoting jobs and economic growth in both countries, facilitating legitimate trade and travel and enhancing security and defence cooperation.
Canada and Mexico maintain their close friendship as neighbours and as long-standing strategic partners in North America, in the hemisphere and in the world.
