Baird Meets with Uruguayan Vice-President

August 7, 2013 - Montevideo - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird meets with Danilo Astori, Vice-President of Uruguay, to discuss bilateral and regional issues.

Relations between Canada and Uruguay are built upon common values and a mutual commitment to democracy, human rights, peace and security. The countries share a long history of cooperation in regional and global organizations including the UN, OAS, Summit of the Americas, OECD and WTO. Canada’s participation with Uruguay in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti is but one example of the solid tradition of collaboration in the hemisphere.
