Baird Addresses Canada China Business Council
October 16, 2013 - Beijing, China - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird addresses the Canada China Business Council (CCBC) Annual General Meeting, highlighting fast-growing Canada-China relations.
“Both Canada and China recognize that we have much to offer one another, that our respective strengths are remarkably complementary and that we have significant unfulfilled potential,” said Baird.
China’s economic growth at home over the last two decades and its rapidly growing impact and influence globally mean that Canada has a much greater stake in this relationship than ever before.
This meeting was part of Baird’s fifth trip to China. Strengthening bilateral relations and commercial ties with China is part of the Government of Canada’s pro-trade plan to create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity.
