Minister Aglukkaq Meets with Indigenous Representatives at Sami Parliament of Sweden
May 14, 2013 - Kiruna, Sweden - The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency and Minister for the Arctic Council, is pictured with representatives of Indigenous peoples after her visit to the Sami Parliament of Sweden. She is joined by representatives of Canada’s territorial governments and Arctic Council Indigenous Permanent Participant organizations.
Minister Aglukkaq is in Kiruna to participate in the Arctic Council Ministerial Meeting.
“Canada looks forward to assuming the chairmanship of the Council from Sweden,” said Minister Aglukkaq. “Our chairmanship will put Northerners first.”
