Minister Fast Welcomes Arrival of C-130K Hercules Aircraft

December 18, 2013 - Abbotsford, British Columbia - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade (centre), welcomes the arrival of two C-130K Hercules aircraft owned by the Mexican Air Force at Cascade Aerospace. Under a contract negotiated between the National Defense Secretariat of Mexico and the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), Cascade Aerospace will modernize, maintain, repair and overhaul the two planes. This is Cascade’s first international military C-130 customer.

This contract represents 70 full-time jobs at Cascade over the next year and will sustain 100 high-value jobs at Cascade, with local suppliers in the defence and aerospace field and in other sectors. Cascade Aerospace is a leading Canadian specialty aerospace and defence contractor that provides long-term integrated aircraft support programs to domestic and international military, government  and commercial customers, as well as to original equipment manufacturers.

According to the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries, Canada’s defence and security sector employs approximately 109,000 people.
