Minister Yelich Meets with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologies

May 22, 2014 - Astana, Kazakhstan - The Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State (Foreign Affairs and Consular), meets with Asset Issekeshev, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologies.

The two discussed the strong and growing commercial relationship between Canada and Kazakhstan. Minister Yelich highlighted that Kazakhstan is a priority market in Canada’s Global Markets Action Plan. They also discussed their countries’ recent signing of a nuclear cooperation agreement and enhancing opportunities for the Canadian extractive sector.
