Minister Fast and Members of Canadian Trade and Development Mission to Ukraine Visit Independence Square

July 10, 2014 - Kyiv, Ukraine - The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade (centre), and members of the Canadian trade and development mission to Ukraine visit Independence Square. The three-day mission to Ukraine demonstrates Canada’s continued support for the country, a partner in peace and prosperity.

Over 100 individuals were killed by security forces during a three-month protest at Independence Square in early 2014. Today, the square is recognized as a pilgrimage destination for many Ukrainians.
