Minister Blaney Takes Part in Rencontres France-Acadie in Nantes
March 21, 2013 - Nantes, France - The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Minister for La Francophonie, delivers the opening address at the Rencontres France-Acadie in Nantes:
“The Government of Canada is pleased to be a partner in this first Rencontres France-Acadie because it attaches great importance to the activities leading up to the World Acadian Congress in 2014. The second Rencontres France-Acadie will be held during the congress.
“The Rencontres France-Acadie demonstrate the expanded exchanges and partnership between Canada and France, especially on the eve of a Canada-European Union trade agreement. These meetings will play a leading role in promoting Acadian culture and strengthening Canada’s economic relations with France and francophones around the world.”
