May 27, 2013 - Ottawa - The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Minister for La Francophonie, was invited to visit École élémentaire publique Jeanne-Sauvé, in Ottawa, by André Larouche, the school’s principal. The school has 360 students from kindergarten to Grade 6.

The Minister attended a choir and band performance of Hymne à la francophonie by approximately 40 students, led by kindergarten teacher Mélanie Lalonde. The school’s principal wrote the song lyrics and the music teacher, Sylvie Bédard, wrote the music.
