Minister Yelich Issues Statement on Bus Crash in Upstate New York

July 18, 2014 - The Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State (Foreign Affairs and Consular), today issued the following statement regarding the bus crash in upstate New York that cost the life of a Canadian and injured many others:

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the person who was killed in a bus crash on Interstate 87 in upstate New York, and we wish a prompt recovery to those injured.

“Canadian officials are providing consular assistance to Canadian citizens and are actively engaged with local authorities to gather additional information. Members of the Standing Rapid Deployment Team have been deployed to the region to provide support.”
