Minister Day to Speak to Canadian Council of the Americas

The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will speak to the Canadian Council of the Americas on Friday, May 1, 2009.

Minister Day will discuss the importance of trade and investment between Canada and Latin America and the Caribbean. He will also speak about the actions undertaken by the Government of Canada to open doors in these markets so that Canadian businesses can take advantage of opportunities. Canada currently has substantial trade and investment relations with countries of the Americas, including two recently signed free trade agreements with Colombia and Peru.
