The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will travel to Russia, France, Saudi Arabia and Jordan to advance Canada’s commercial relationships and open doors for Canadian businesses.
While in Russia, Minister Day will lead an infrastructure trade mission to Moscow and Sochi.
He will then travel to Paris to attend the OECD ministerial meeting. He will also attend the WTO mini-ministerial meeting, where he will highlight Canada’s commitment to the multilateral WTO process and continued support for a broad and ambitious outcome to the Doha Round of trade negotiations.
Minister Day will also travel to Saudi Arabia and to Jordan, where he will promote Canada as a supplier of high-quality goods and services and advance Canada’s free trade agenda. He will make important announcements during his visit to the Middle East.
The Minister will hold a series of media teleconferences to highlight the outcome of his various meetings, on June 24, 26 and 28, 2009. Details on the teleconferences will follow.
