Minister Day to Attend Trilateral NAFTA Meeting in Dallas

(No. A/103 - October 16, 2009) The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will travel to Dallas, Texas, from October 16 to 19, 2009.

Minister Day will attend a trilateral meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and Mexico’s Secretary of Economy Gerardo Ruiz Mateos to discuss cooperative efforts to make it easier to do business in North America.

This meeting represents the first time the trade ministers of the three NAFTA countries have met since 2007.

While in Dallas, Minister Day will also be the keynote speaker at a meeting of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, attended by leaders from the business community and other dignitaries.
