Reminder - Minister Van Loan to Meet Provincial and Territorial Counterparts to Advance Canada’s Trade Agenda

Trade ministers gather in advance of key G-8 and G-20 meetings to highlight the importance of free and open trade and investment

(No. A/105 - June 18, 2010) The Honourable Peter Van Loan, Minister of International Trade, will meet with provincial and territorial trade ministers in Ottawa on June 20 and 21, 2010.

Minister Van Loan will use this opportunity to highlight Canada’s leadership and efforts to resist protectionism, expand trade and promote investment opportunities. Canada has been a leader in the G-20 efforts to resist protectionism.

Minister Van Loan is looking forward to working with provinces and territories to advance Canada’s ambitious free trade agenda, which includes economic and trade talks with the European Union. 

Minister Van Loan and the provincial and territorial trade ministers will hold a media availability following the conclusion of their meeting.
