International Trade Minister Peter Van Loan to Attend World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Following Visit to Morocco

Visit to focus on promoting Canada as the strategic partner for free trade and global investment

(No. A/6 - January 27, 2011) The Honourable Peter Van Loan, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, will travel to Davos, Switzerland, following his visit to Morocco.

While in Morocco today, Minister Van Loan is meeting with counterparts and business leaders to promote freer trade and investment on the world stage.

On Friday, January 28, 2011, Minister Van Loan will travel to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum. Minister Van Loan’s visit to Davos will focus on promoting Canada’s economic advantages to global partners and highlighting Canada as a leading destination for investment. He will also attend the World Trade Organization informal ministerial meeting.
