Reminder - International Trade Minister Ed Fast and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Peter Penashue Stand up for Jobs and Opportunity in Local Communities
( The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, and the Honourable Peter Penashue, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, will participate in a round-table discussion with Canadian sealers on August 31, 2011, in St. John’s.
Minister Fast will highlight the Government of Canada’s commitment to defending hard-working sealers by challenging the European Union’s ban on seal harvesting at the World Trade Organization. This is one of many ways in which the Harper government is standing up for jobs in local communities and taking action to maintain and expand market access for Canadian seal products to enhance the economic security of sealers and their families.
