Minister Fast Visits Japan and Indonesia to Drive Canada’s Success in Priority Markets

(No. A/76 - September 29, 2011) The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will travel to Japan and Indonesia from September 30 to October 3, 2011, to meet with his counterparts as well as with Canadian business leaders.

While in Japan, Minister Fast will visit the Sendai region, site of the earthquake and tsunami disaster. He will also sign important international trade-related agreements in both countries.

Minister Fast will use these opportunities to help strengthen Canada’s trade and investment ties with Asia, a region Canada has identified as a priority market. He will also use these occasions to meet with and assist specific Canadian businesses seeking out new economic opportunities in the region.
